What Is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) is a naturally occurring copper-binding peptide that has been studied for its potential roles in tissue repair, skin quality, inflammation signaling, and regenerative processes. While it is widely known in topical skincare, GHK-Cu using subcutaneous (subQ) administration has effects on recovery, collagen signaling, and overall tissue health.

GHK-Cu is not a hormone and does not act like GLP-1 or growth-hormone–based therapies. Instead, it functions primarily as a biological signaling peptide.

How Does GHK-Cu Work?

GHK-Cu interacts with several cellular pathways involved in repair and regeneration:

  • Copper-binding activity — Helps transport copper ions involved in enzymatic and healing processes.

  • Collagen and tissue signaling — Studied for its role in supporting extracellular matrix activity and skin integrity.

  • Anti-inflammatory pathways — May influence signals related to tissue recovery and oxidative stress.

  • Cell communication — Acts as a messenger peptide that may help regulate gene expression linked to repair mechanisms.

Rather than stimulating appetite hormones or metabolism directly, GHK-Cu works through cellular signaling and regenerative pathways.

Potential Benefits?

  • Support for skin quality and collagen signaling

  • Research interest in tissue repair and recovery

  • Possible support for hair and scalp health

  • Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant signaling in some studies

Side Effects and Safety Considerations?

  • Injection-site irritation or redness

  • Mild fatigue or headache in some individuals

  • Skin sensitivity or flushing

Recommended Dosing Schedule?

Estimated Half-Life is Relatively Short (Hours Rather Than Days).

Why it matters:
• Does not remain in the body as long as weekly metabolic peptides
• Often studied using more frequent administration rather than weekly dosing
• Effects are linked to signaling pathways rather than long drug accumulation

Steady state refers to when levels entering and leaving the body balance out.
With shorter-acting peptides like GHK-Cu, steady state — if applicable — is typically reached more quickly compared to long-acting weekly compounds.

Focus on consistent, moderate administration rather than large dose escalations. 2mg daily is a good starting point.

Increasing the amount is not always necessary. If you are achieving desired outcomes without significant negative side effects, maintaining a stable approach may be more appropriate than continually increasing.

Our pens have an adjustable dose of 2-5mg, and a shelf life of 12-18month.
